Why does copper tarnish

Copper is a reactive metal. In a process called oxidation, copper reacts slowly in the presence of oxygen, resulting in copper oxide. This is what we call tarnish, which is generally perceived as a brown or black coloration on the surface.

Why has my wrist turned green?

Copper reacts with sweat, air and oils on your skin to create a layer of copper carbonate. This is completely harmless and simply washes off. Some people experience more green marks than others, this can be due to using skin creams and cosmetics. Also, if you eat a lot of junk food or red meat, your body develops an acidic nature. Copper then reacts with these acidic conditions and turns green, giving you a warning to take care of your health.

How do I clean my bracelet?

You can keep your copper jewellery clean by washing it from time to time with some soap and warm water. Afterwards, just dry and polish with a soft cloth. You can also use a soft cloth to gently polish your jewellery using beeswax or commercial polishing products.

Will it help my arthritis?

There is no evidence that wearing copper or copper magnetic jewellery alleviates the symptoms of arthritis, rheumatism or joint pain any more than a placebo. If you suffer from joint pain we recommend discussing this with your health care professional.

My bracelet is the wrong size, can I return it?

Yes, you can return it as long as it is the same condition as when you received it.  There may be an additional cost (eg for our Silver Viking bracelets), please just send us a message.

How do I measure the size of my wrist?

  1. Rotate your forearm outward until your palm is facing up and open your hand. This is when your wrist is the largest.
  2. Place the end of the measuring tape in the middle of your wrist width.
  3. Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist and read the measurement.

Please note that if you need to take links out of our chain style bracelets, this will need to be done by a jeweller's.

How long will it take to be made

As all items are handmade, they can take up to 2 weeks to be made.  Most of our copper bracelets are made and are generally dispatched within 3 working days.  Our silver bracelets can take much longer as they are sent to the UK Assay Office for hallmarking.  This process can add 1-2 weeks to the dispatch time.

How long is delivery

This very much depends on your location.  All orders are sent via Royal Mail First Class within the UK.  Expedited orders are sent via Special Delivery so should arrive next day (once manufactured).

Overseas orders can take anything from 1-4 weeks depending on your location.  If your order is needed within a certain timeframe, please let us know this when you order and we will make every effort to get your order to you on time.

Can you add a gift message?

Hi, yes, please add a note to your order and we will include this.

How is my order packaged?

Most of our bracelets are sent in a complimentary black branded Origin box.  Our earrings are sent in small pouches.  Please also look at our selection of jewellery boxes for sale.  Some of these can be personalised to suit the occasion.
